Quartzite

Quartzite is a natural stone found in various locations around the world. It is important to stress that quartzite slabs should not be confused with quartz slabs, which are a man-made material. Quartzite forms when sandstone with a high quartz content is exposed to high amounts of heat and pressure. The resulting natural stone is one of the densest materials found in nature. It is available in an array of colors depending on which other minerals were present when the quartzite was formed. All the colors and patterns in quartzite are completely natural. Many of the lighter color varieties of quartzite resemble marble both in color and in the natural veins that appear in the stone.

Quartzite’s durability, strength, and resistance, coupled with the amazing array of colors and designs it offers, creates a covering for floors, walls and countertops which enhanses any project, creating a feeling of luxury and sophistication. Furthermore, quartzite’s smooth surface requires little maintenance, which further enhanses its use in many applications.

While quartzite is found in various locations around the world, many of the largest deposits are found in Brazil. Brazilian quartzite is prized for it quality and variety. Approximately 100 specific varieties of quartzite are presently being imported into the United States from Brazil.

Granite

Granite has been used in construction for well over 3,000 years. The Egyptians used granite in their pyramids, and the Romans built their aqueducts and many of their large civic projects with granite. While granite never went out of style for large projects, it was only in the 1970s that granite became popular in kitchens and bathrooms, replacing tile counter-tops and bring a cleaner, more elegant
style into homes.

Because of the variety in color and style, along with its durability, strength and resistance to heat, granite can be used in many applications and in many
environments. Whether being used for sinks, countertops, floors, walls or door frames, granite is always an elegant and charming covering, adding a great deal of style to any setting in or around the home.

Granite forms from the crystallization of slowly cooling magma below the earth’s surface. Though not quite as hard or dense as quartzite, granite is extremely hard and durable. It is heat resistant and offers many beautiful colors and patterns.

Marble

Marble is the top of the line in natural stone and is seen as a noble stone. Marble is a metamorphic rock formed when limestone mixed with minerals such as clay, mica, quartz, pyrite, iron oxides and graphite comes under a huge amount of heat and pressure. Marble is found in different shades and styles. and is often found with blue, brown or dark gray veins.

It is used both in decorative and useful applications throughout home and can occupy the most different rooms and purposes. Countertops, floors and wall coverings are some of the uses given to the material. With it, you can create bathrooms, kitchens, service areas, living rooms and balconies. Its beautiful appearance, always present regardless of the color, makes it perfect for use in interior and exterior compositions. Another quality that can be highlighted in the stone is its high resistance and durability.
